Dr. James Jordan, author of The Lean Company: Making the Right Choices and Next Generation Manufacturing: Methods and Techniques highlights a list of eight speakers presenting at a "Manufacturing in Leans Times" forum. The one-day conference, which also features presentations from manufacturing companies A-dec, LSI Logic, Lund, The SRS Group, Wah Chang, and Oregon State University (OSU) engineering faculty, will be held at the LaSells Stewart Center in Corvallis, Oregon, Tuesday October 28.

The Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP) is co-sponsoring the event in conjunction with MeetingPointForums.com.

Dr. Jordan, a former executive at IBM, patent holder, and Co-founder of NGM Knowledge Systems, will present "Living Lean". His talk will point out lean behaviors that anyone at any level in a company can employ to help the organization become more lean. In addition, Dr. Jordan will sketch the use of an augmented "Balanced Scorecard" for justifying investments in lean initiatives.

Leaders in academia include OSU's Dr. Toni Doolen, who will discuss "Assessing the Impact of Kaizan Events".
